Phlox come in 2 forms. One is the low growing groundcover variety that is covered with small flowers in shades of pink, white, or purple. The other form is the tall garden variety. The stalks have long narrow leaves along the full length. The best and most prominent feature though is the large clusters of small flowers that form at the top and on side shoots. They also come in shades of pink, white and purple. They are very fragrant and can be smelled for quite a distance downwind. We grow both forms here in our yard but we only sell the tall varieties.

Once established, Phlox will come back each year with more stalks and more flowers. They may grow up from seeds that fall nearby. If you find young plants that are from seeds, you may want to remove them because they won't look like the parent plant. They don't come true from seeds. The plants can be divided early in the spring for more of the same variety. Even the low-growing varieties can be divided to cover more area.

Quantities on these Phlox are very limited.
