Willows
Willows
Willows tolerate wet areas better than most plants. Willows are all fast growers. Many of the branches are often used for decorative projects and even basketry.
From the early spring favorites, Pussy Willows, to the highly decorative Dappled Willow. Not all of them are the wild, water hunting terrors that some people think they are.
Golden Curls Willow grows fast and curly. Straight branches are not found in this variety. We sell some with specially braided trunks for use as a small patio or novelty tree.
We carry them as multi-branched shrubs that are grown as pruned shrubs. They can also be grown as full-sized willows with the weeping wavy branches of golden yellow.
Willow is not a bad word to be avoided for the landscape. There are varieties that work well with many layout designs. How about leaves that aren’t green like everything else?
If you do have a wet area, Willows make an excellent choice. Design around one as a centerpiece with other wet loving plants. We can help you out with some other choices too.
